Sept. 11 we headed south for the border and entered into the state of Maine. We parked the RV right in front of the Atlantic Ocean at Sagadahoc Bay Campground located on the southern tip of Georgetown Island ME. The beach was a tidal flat where the tide went out about a mile or so every six hours. The boys found it interesting that every time the tide went out they could walk out on the beaches and find crabs. We stayed there for three days and did some visiting in Portland. We walked the historic district and visited the house of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. He is probably best known for the poem "Paul Revere's Ride.
