Hello San Francisco! We stayed in South San Francisco at the Treasure Island RV Park. it was just a mile from the train station which was very convenient. The first night we went downtown to the Fishermans' Wharf and Pier 39. It was a little cold but we got to see most of it. The next day we caught up on school and did some shopping, then the following day went downtown again for some more sight seeing. We went on the ferry to Alcatraz and took a very interesting tour of the old prison. It was rainy and cold, but luckily most of the touring was inside. The boys were really impressed with the smallness on the cells. It would be a very bleak place to be. We were a little saddened that the weather was so poor, because we could hardly see the Golden Gate Bridge. We were able to drive over near it and go through the Golden Gate Park which is quite large. On Sunday the 7th we headed down the famous highway 101 towards Los Angeles.
Well for Parker, no visit to the middle of California would be complete without a visit to Apple Computers headquarters in Cupertino. Although they do not give any kind of tour of the facility, they do have a huge Apple Store there and we were able to pick up some mementos. While in San Jose we also spent a day at the "Tech Museum" a very interesting museum that caters to kids and has two floors of hands-on displays and an iMax theater.
